(Senior) Data Engineer – Edge

As a (Sr.) Data Engineer – Edge, you will work with Data Scientists, Digital Product Developers, and Platform Engineers to develop high-performance data analysis services, design data pipelines, and optimize workflows for CEDES’ Internet of Things (IoT) suite in an international, nimble, and fast-paced team environment. In this role you are part of an international team with internationally operating portfolio of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions in the Vertical Transportation and Entry Automation spaces.

Your area of responsibility

  • Writing ETL (extract, transform, load) code (currently written in C++) ensuring that the ETL process performs optimally
  • Implementing data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics systems
  • Documenting source-to-target mappings
  • Re-engineering manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use
  • Supporting the build of data streaming systems
  • Building accessible data storage and warehouses for analysis
  • Recognizing opportunities to reuse existing data flows
  • Leading the build of data streaming systems
  • Optimizing code to ensure processes perform optimally
  • Lead work on database management

Our requirements

  • A degree in computer science or data science
  • Independent, punctual, and team-oriented performance combined with very strong analytical skills
  • High proficiency in C++ and proficient in Python, including typical data ecosystems
  • Experience with version control (GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines for data applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize complex workflows
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data governance practices and processes
  • Presenting results in a clear manner (plain language, reduce use of jargon, visualizations)
  • Trusted advisor for establishing data requirements according to business objectives
  • Good English skills, both written and spoken (additional languages are a plus)
  • Experience with cloud services is a plus, especially with Microsoft Azure, including specifically:
  • Understanding of machine learning workflows
  • Familiarity with ML tools and practices
